a listing of Agnetha swedish singles

A quick look at "the blond"

An argument could be made that of all of the members of ABBA that Agnetha has the least effective body of work outside of ABBA,if only because nearly all of her best work was with ABBA. But,fans still need to listen to her solo work for chance to hear sing in Swedish, to hear songs written by herself and to hear her work with people other than the members of ABBA....

Agnetha Ase Fältskog was born in Jonkoping, Sweden on April 5, 1950. She began performing as a child.
She began her Swedish recording career in late 1967 with her first single. From 1968 to 1972, Agnetha recorded four solo albums, a dozen German language recordings and some other odd's and ends. Her early Swedish language records feature romantic, plaintive, pop music similar perhaps to Connie Francis, but still in a style all her own due to the richness of her voice .

The main advantage to Aggies' early solo work is the chance to hear her own songwriting (Agnetha only wrote two songs for ABBA). Agnetha wrote both music and lyrics to many of her own her early solo songs but was actually better at writing music than lyrics. The other advantage of her early work is that she usually is singing in Swedish, her first language.

During the period from 1973 to 1982 Agnetha focused on her work with ABBA. She did find time to record one more Swedish language solo album and to release two solo compilation albums which included some new material as well... Her work with ABBA is generally superb, perhaps, because she has much more opportunity to do all sorts of great backing and harmony vocals, and because she is working with such excellent material.

Between 1980 and 1987 Agnetha recorded three solo studio albums in English and these albums were released internationally. These were pop albums that mainly feature songs written by American and British songwriters. These English language albums were book ended by two so-so Swedish language duet albums that Agnetha recorded with each of her children. Her music career seemed to end in 1988, when she decided to return to private life. Her first twenty years in the music business were very productive in that they resulted in 18 studio albums, a musical and a number of compilation albums with new material.

In her period of retirement, Agnetha developed a Garbo-esque reputation for aloofness, partly due to the fact she has a fear of flying, and thus she rarely leaves Sweden. She has appeared a lot more in public recently however.

In 2000 or 2001 Agnetha recorded demos for a possible new album-but the project was delayed at first, when her first producer, Michael B. Tretow took ill. However, the album project was finally revived and finished. It turned out to be album of covers of old 1960's pop standards called My Colouring Book. This album was recorded in English and released internationally on the Warner Music label. .

In October 2012, it was announced that she working on recording a new CD with contemporary producer, Jörgen Elofsson. That album called "A" was released in May 2013. d Agnetha Faltskog-"A", Universal May 2013. .

THE ALBUMS

Agnetha Fältskog-Agnetha Fältskog, Cupol CLPL 1002, Late 1968 Swedish LP

available on CD -Also Available on CD as part of D Första Åren - Agnetha Fältskog 1967-1979 6 CD box set

In the late Summer of 1967,Agnetha was singing in Bengt Enghardt's dance band in Jonkoping, Sweden when a demo tape of her act that been had sent to Cupol Records drew the interest of producer Little Gerhard. Sadly, for the Bengt Enghardt dance band, only Agnetha was signed..
Agnetha recorded her first single in October 16th 1967 and by late 1968 her first album had been recorded and released.

The Agnetha Fältskog album compiled the contents of her first five singles. Two of the singles "Jag Ar Sa Kar" (I Was so in love)"and"Allting har förändrat sej (Everything has changed ) were actual hits.

The album cover pictures Agnetha in a sweet but sexy pose in a miniskirt. Agnetha wrote or co-wrote most of the songs on her first album a remarkable accomplishment for a 18 year old woman singer in 1968. This is a very innocent album.

This album was first issued on CD by Royal Records. The CD included three bonus tracks, and some of the original artwork. That reissue is out of print.

This album is also reissued as part of -De Första Åren - Agnetha Fältskog 1967-1979 6 CD box set and on the Original Album Classics Box.

 The German language Singles

During 1968-70 , Agnetha also attempted to become big in Germany (see Geh Mit Gott review further down). She had a completely independent career singing in German concurrently at this time, but continued to record in Swedish, and occasionally in English. The distractions of her German career and the interference of her German Svengali-Dieter Zimmerman, did nothing to help her Swedish music career

Agnetha began releasing songs in German for the West German market in May 1968. No albums of this material were released till the German compilation album - Geh Mit Gott came out in 1994.

Agnetha Fältskog-Agnetha Fältskog-Volume 2, Cupol CLPL 1003, Late 1969 Swedish LP available on CD (I have also seen this album listed as having been released in 1968, but the copyright says 1969) Also Available on CD as part of D Första Åren - Agnetha Fältskog 1967-1979 6 CD box set

Agnetha's first two albums were produced by the man who discovered her, Karl-Gerhard Lundqvist (who also went by his performing name-Little Gerhard). Little Gerhard also wrote or cowrote some of the songs on Aggie's first few albums. This album was co-engineered by Michael Tretow.

VOLUME 2 is similar to the first album, though perhaps a little weaker. This one features "Zigenarvan" (Gypsy Friend") a rollicking song co-written by Aggie that apparently offended her large Swedish gypsy audience. Agnetha wrote one of the songs, and cowrote five others...

Volume 2 was issued for the first time on CD in 2000 by Royal Records The CD includes lyrics and and three bonus tracks! The bonus tracks were songs filmed for Swedish TV in 1969 .....(This was the same program Bjorn met Agnetha!) One of the TV clips was . "Nu Ska Vi Opp Opp Opp " which was also featured in the THANK YOU ABBA video in a bizarre clip where Agnetha seemingly joins the Swedish air force. The Royal version of this CD is out of print. This album (minus bonus tracks )is also part of -De Första Åren - Agnetha Fältskog 1967-1979 and on the Orignal Album Classics Box.

This album was the first to feature both sides of Agnetha's 1968 single with Jorgen Edman That single was "Sjung denna säng"/ " Nagonting händer med dej". Jorgen was a Cupol records label mate... These tracks also show up on the Sjung denna säng album and other compilations ...The rest of the songs on this album are Jorgen Edman tracks.. "
"Sjung denna säng" was a Swedish version of a Sonny Bono song...

Agnetha Fältskog-Som Jag År,cupol CLPL 1016, October 1970 Out of print Swedish LP Also Available on CD as part of D Första Åren - Agnetha Fältskog 1967-1979 6 CD box set

The title translates in English to "As I Am"and was also used as the title of Aggie's autobiography in the 1990's.The cover features a haunting shot of Agnetha standing in a field covered with leaves. .

SOM JAG AR featured Björn Ulvaeus' involvement, he and Aggie had only recently been going together , and would marry in
July 1971. Björn coproduced SOM JAG AR with Little Gerhard and sings on a duet with Aggie here-"Sa Har Borjar Karlek"- ("That's how love begins" ). You can see why Aggie & Björn didn't do more love duets -"That's how Love Begins' is pretty darned nauseating, or maybe they just couldn 't stand each other after all!

Among the better songs here are "Jag Saka Gor Allt" a song written by Aggie and "En Sang och En Sanga'" a Paul Mauriat song that gets interesting about half way through. This album also features "Som Ett Eko" (Like an Echo).

The hit here was Agnetha's song " Om Tarar Vore Guld "( '"If Tears Were Gold"). Agnetha got sued for plagiarizing over "If Tears Were Gold"- but only she paid a tiny settlement.

This album was released for first time on CD in 2004 as part of the box set-De Första Åren - Agnetha Fältskog 1967-1979/

Agnetha Fältskog- Nar En Vackar Tanke Blir En Sang, Cupol CLPN 348, Rel. November 1971 Out of print Swedish LP Available on CD as part of D Första Åren - Agnetha Fältskog 1967-1979 6 CD box set

The album title translates to "When A
Beautiful Thought becomes a Song" This album was recorded in mostly in May 1971 at Metronome Studios in Stockholm.
Björn Ulvaeus produced this album which was Agnetha's fourth ;and Björn does a good job. Björn even cowrote some of the songs here with Agnetha (songs like "Mitt Somarland, and "Kungens vaktparad
").

Benny and Frida can also be found singing and/ or playing on this, album notably on 'Drom Ar Drom A Saga Saga" (A dream is a Dream and a Song is a Song ).

The cover features Agnetha sitting down near a window which is a theme that would be repeated on her next studio album cover.
The Dutch reissued this album with a different cover under the name AGNETHA.
A lot of the songs on this album can found on the "Sjung Denna Sjung" compilation, and the whole album is currently available on Original Album Classics.

This was released on CD in 2004 as part of the box set De Första Åren - Agnetha Fältskog 1967-1979. .

Original Swedish Cast -Jesus Christ Superstar Early 1972 Out of print Released on dutch CD in November 1985,out of print.

Agnetha was Mary Magdelene in the Swedish language stage version of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's classic musical. This was Aggie's first acting role. The part is important but not very big -two solos and a few other small bits. Agnetha retained the acting bug and would later star in a film.(Raskenstam (1983)

Björn produced Agnetha's versions of" Everything's All Right" and "I Dont Know How To Love Him". We have here a rare chance to compare Agnetha and Frida's singing styles since Frida also did versions of these same two songs, on her 1971 debut album. Frida's
versions were produced by Benny. Interestingly, Frida's versions use a different translation than that used on the Agnetha version. Not surprisingly, Agnetha's versions of these songs are better than Frida's versions, partly because Björn comes up with a much better arrangement for Aggie than Benny did producing for Frida, but partly because these songs are more suited more Aggie.

This album was rereleased on CD on Royal Records (the same people who are reissued Aggie's first 2 albums on CD). But it is no available... The two main songs the Agnetha sings are also available on various Agnetha compilations

Disc 1- Ouvertyr, Ditt Folk Har Du Förlett, Vad Står På ?/ Hon Går På Gatan(Agnetha), Nu Ska Du Bli Stilla(Agnetha), Jesus Må Dö, Hosianna, Simon Ivraren/Ack Mitt Jerusalem, Pilatus Dröm, I Templet, Allting Är Allright(Agnetha), Vart Ska Min Kärlek Föra(Agnetha), Drömd För Alltid
Disc 2- Nattvarden, I Getsemane, Jesus Fängslas, Petrus Förnekar Jesus(Agnetha), Inför Pilatus, Herodes Sång, Judas Död, Åter Inför Pilatus, Superstar, Korsfästelsen, Johannes Evangeliet kap. 19, vers 41

Agnetha Fältskog-Basta, Cupol CLPL 1023, Late 1973 Out of print Swedish LP

Agnetha devoted less time to her solo career in 1972-1974. This was due to her need to spend time as a wife and (in 1973 - mother) and due to the emergence of ABBA. This hits compilation was her only solo album to come out during 1972-1974.

Agnetha did manage to record and release four singles during this lull. Four songs from these singles would appear on this album. "Vart skall min kärlek föra."(Aggie's version of Dont Know How To Love Him") "Sa Glad Som Dina Ogon", "En Sang Om Sorg Och Gladje" and" Vi Har Har Hunnit Fram Till Refrangen" (Our Last Song Together"). "Our Last Song together" has a lovely melody courtesy of Neil Sedaka.

The lettering on this album similiar to that used on Barbara Streisand albums. BASTA hasn't been released on CD cos it was superseded by later hits compilations.

Track listing:

Elva Kvinnor!

Agnetha Fältskog-Elva Kvinnor I ett Hus,Cupol CLPS 351, rel. December 1975 Out of print Swedish LP Available on CD as part of D Första Åren - Agnetha Fältskog 1967-1979 6 CD box set

Often regarded as Agnetha's best studio album. It's certainly the album that she put the most OF HER OWN effort into. Aggie co-produced the album ( remember this is 1975 when woman did not generally produce their own records) and she wrote most of the music, Bosse Carlgren wrote lyrics based on themes and dummy lyrics put together for the songs by Agnetha. Agnetha was inspired by Carole King's TAPESTRY album-to make a extra effort on this album..

The album title translates to "Eleven Woman in One Building". An actual Stockholm building was pictured on the back cover. Each of the 11 songs tells the story of
one of the eleven woman living in the building pictured on the cover. This includes the Swedish versions of two Abba tracks-"SOS" and "Disillusion"(known here as "Mina Ogon")

Also included here is "Gulleput" a Swedish version of "Golliwog" . "Golliwog" was the B-side of 1974 non-album single "Here For Your Love' ." Here for you love" was the Engish version of "Tio Mil Kvar Till Korpilombolo" . "...Korp..." was released released as a non-album B-side in 1973. .Yes, it can all be very confusing.

Some of the more memorable tracks on ELVA are "Doktorn" which has a beat and you can dance to it: " Dar Hom Glut" and the lovely "Tacks for Underwear". Actually .the real title of that last one is "Tack For En Underbar van lig Dag" which translates to "thank for a wonderful ordinary day". The album closes poignanty with "Visa i attonde manaden " (Song in the Eight Month).

Strangely, ELVA has never been released on it's on a single CD. .Michael Tretow engineered this, but the other ABBA members had very little to do with this album.

Strangely, this album has never been reissued on it's own
on CD as of yet. It has been released on CD as part of box sets of Agnetha's first 5 solo albums that were released in 2004 and 2008. CD buyers can also find some of the tracks from on this album on the Tio AR MED, and My LOVE, MY LIFE CD's.

Track listing :

/ Och han väntar på mig /Doktorn! /Mina ögon /Dom har glömt /Var det med dej? /

Ulf Lundell - Nådens År 1978 reissued on CD recently

A Album that Agnetha sang backing vocals on one track... " Snön faller och vi med den".. Not really worth seeking out...
A CD version released in the 2000's on CD includes 2 bonus tracks.
Nådens år, Snön faller och vi med den (incl. Agnetha !), Höga hästar, Natten har sitt sätt, Den lille landstrykaren, Kärlekens hundar, Warum all this black stuff ?, Prärien igen, Sonjas vals, Kitsch, Vit flagg, Tisdag morgon, Ack blake, käre blace

Agnetha Fältskog-Tio Ar Med , Cupol CLPS 352, October 1979 Available on Swedish CD

Agnetha solo career was totally on hold between mid 1976 and late 1979. Although this meant that Aggie was able to put her mark on popular music as a singer in ABBA, (and raise a family) it also meant that Agnetha songwriting efforts slowed .to crawl-and by the 1980's she was making only token efforts to write songs..That Agnetha was actually a fairly good songwriter is probably one of the most surprising facts about ABBA members. However, her desire to sing continued unabated till 1987...

Agnetha and Bjorn divorced in early 1979, and so Agnetha started to lay the groundwork for a post -ABBA solo career with this solo compilation album. Honestly, there was probably no connection at all between her divorce and this compilation, but nobody pays me to write this stuff, so I just make it up as I go along.... This album was released by the Cupol label-how's that for useful information.. Anyway, they probably wanted some new Agentha product, and were willing to settle for a compilation album with one new song. Agnetha has blue eyes and is a natural blond...that is also true...

This is the most concise compilation of Agnetha's Swedish language music. It has a elegant cover photo of Aggie looking a bit more mature and matronly. I think this is the first time her trademark blonde hair is tied back on a cover. This album includes a total of fifteen songs that are drawn from each of her previous six Swedish solo albums as well as one new song recorded in 1979 called "Nar Du Tar Mej I Din Famn" ' which translates literally to "When You Take Me In Your Arms' .The same tune was belatedly released in 1998 in a English version called "Queen of Hearts" Sadly, no studio version of "I'm Still Alive" (her solo song on the 1979 ABBA tour )was recorded for inclusion here. The original LP had a gatefold sleeve with a separate paragraph and photo describing each song as well as lyrics for the songs. This is a lovely collection...that makes for good listening.

Kicki Moberg-Kicki Moberg February 1981 out of print LP

Agnetha does not sing or play on this album, but I include this album because it shows how Agnetha was still writing songs at this point. This Polar release features two songs cowritten by Agnetha Faltskog. " Men Natten ar Var"   and " Har ar Mitt Lin " a Swedish version of the unreleased ABBA song-"I'm Still Alive".

Agneta Baumann 'I Am An Illusion' Out of print Swedish LP

Agnetha Faltskog does not sing or play on this album, either. This contains the first English version of Agnethas's 1979 track 'Nar Du Tar Mej I Din Famn', The English version was called "Queen Of Hearts ", and Agnetha's English language demo was not released till the compilation album THAT's Me came out in May 1998.

Agnetha and Linda - NU TANDAS TUSEN JULEJUS, Polar POLS 328, Fall 1981 Available Swedish CD...Remastered and reissued in 2005

This solo album came out while ABBA still existed. This album was actually recorded in late 1980, but held back for release till Fall 1981 It was the only new studio ABBA solo album to be recorded between 1976 and 1982. .This album is Agnetha's contribution to the world of Christmas music..The album has proved to be a perennial success, if only in Sweden.

The title track is a Swedish Christmas standard,
which means in English "-Now A Thousand Candles Are being lit".Agnetha, Linda and a bunch of children recorded this Swedish language Christmas album. Michael B.Tretow engineered-note how He speeds up the children's voices on occasion. Some of the ABBA band play on this album. Agnetha only sings some of the time, and while Linda and the kids are cute, one still wants to hear the diva sing...

Though this is more listenable then Aggie's later album with her son Christian it remains a non-essential album. The best thing about the album is the cover. It quite literally portrays Agnetha and her daughter surrounded by good percentage of the 1000 candles that are referred to in the title. Agnetha looks like a angel. Linda Ulvaeus is now a mother herself, as well as being an actress who appeared in the 1998 Swedish movie, Under Solen

This CD was released by Polar in 1987. The original album came out while ABBA still existed.
This album was recently re- issued in tandem
with a 1972 Polar Christmas LP on a Swedish
CD called JULENS MUSIK. track listing follows...

Nej se dat snöar/ Bjällerklang/ Nu tändas tusen juleljus/ Två små röda luvor/ Nu står jul vid snöig port/ Jag såg mamma kyssa tomten/ När juldagsmorgen glimmar/ Potpurri/ Mej mitt vinterland/ Så mitt lyser stjärnan/ Mössens julafton/ När det lider mot jul

TOMAS LEDIN- THE HUMAN TOUCH 1982 Swedish LP with some international releases.

Tomas Ledin was a bit of ABBA/Stig protege. He went along as the male background singer on ABBA's 1979 tour-in which he performed the track,"Not Bad At All", Agnetha and Frida sang backing vocals on his 1980 album LOOKING FOR A GOOD TIME .He also wrote songs for both of Agnetha and Frida's first English language solo albums... This particular album is notable for including his melodramatic duet with Agnetha Faltskog-called "Never Again" which was a big Swedish hit. This duet can be found on a couple of Aggie's compilations . Tomas Ledin ending up marrying Stig Anderson's daughter Marie, and also ended up owning Polar Studios' which sadly was shut down due to high rent wanted by the building owners in 2004. There is only one track with Agnetha on this album....

I Love You
I've Got Something
Never Again (duet with Agnetha Faltskog)
She's In Love With My Best Friend
Listen To Your Heart
Loving You Is Like Chasing A Dream
Keep It Up
Taken By Surprise
Love Me Like You Used To

WYAAM! back cover

Agnetha Fältskog-Wrap Your Arms Around Me, Polar POLS 328, June 1983 Available on CD in some territories ..Remastered and reisued with bonus tracks in 2005

Agnetha's first solo album to be sung in English. It was released right after the last ABBA records. Released worldwide (even in America) this was produced by British pop producer Michael Chapman. It was relativley sucessful reaching the top 20 in most of Europe and even in Australia. Reviews were mixed , but well, at least Agnetha was happy with this album.. Many of the songs are good vehicles for Agnetha's pure wrenching voice. For that reason, this album appeals to some fans.

This album does not compare well to Agnetha's ABBA's records which was the standard many record buyers were using. Nor does it seem as personal as Agnetha's Swedish solo work ,perhaps, because only one of the songs here was written by Agnetha, the forgettable song -"Man". Agnetha found writing songs to be hard work by the 1980's and thus did not write many songs by this time. She did find time to write a song for the 1981 Swedish heat of the Eurovision Song Contest , a song called 'Men Natten Är Vår' ('But The Night Is Ours'),which was performed by singer Kicki Moberg. But no released version of this song by Aggie exists.

The best songs here are probably "Can't Shake Loose", "the Heat
Is On" and the title track . The "heat is on" was a cover of failed single originally done in 1979 by Noosha Fox, it would became a top ten hit for Agnetha.

Strangely a few of the songs ("Take Good Care of Your Children", Once Burned Twice Shy, Stand By Your Side") have a sort of light soul sound.

If " Can't Shake Loose' sounds like a remake of Frida's "Something Going On " It's because both songs were written by Russ Ballard. Both of Ballard's songs got played by American Album orientated rock stations (the stations that would play Van Halen or Led Zeppelin that would never play ABBA)..

The most amusing song here is "Mr. Persuasion" which sounds like it would make a good song for a exercise video with it's "You take me UP, DOWN chorus. It also has a great line-"Well have a mind but I put it on vacation"...

This album was digitally recorded at Polar Studios in January to March 1983 by ABBA Engineer Michael Tretow. Some ABBA band people like the ever-faithful Rutger Gunnarson played on it.

There was some debate as to whether or not to use Agnetha's last name on the cover. Record Companies wondered whether DJ's would be able to say Aggie's last name. In the end she decided that her last name would stay. After all, people probably couldn't her say her first name correctly either and "ANNA" wasn't an option at this point in the game.

I am amazed that somebody can be the most prominent member of a group that sells 300 million records and still Professional DJ's don't know to say her name!

The 2005 remaster adds two songs recorded for movie called P&B those songs are It's So Nice To Be Rich (a-side)
P&B (b-side) , two version s of "Never Again "and an dance mix of "The Heat Is On".

Agnetha Fältskog-Eyes of A Woman, Polar POLS 385, March 1985 Available worldwide on CD, though not in all territories Remastered and reisued with bonus tracks in 2005

Agnetha's second English language solo album
was produced by former 10cc member, Eric Stewart. (who is a Abba fan). Although it sounds less like a Agnetha album than WYAAM this album at least jettisons Michael Chapman's dreary production values. This is Agnetha's most upbeat solo album.

This album did well in Sweden, Norway and the Low Counries, but the Uk and Germany had lost interest, and America would not even release it.

"I Wont Let You Go" was written by Agnetha with Eric Stewart and was released as a single . This album uses some top name songwriters . Justin Hayward of The Moody Blues wrote "The Angels Cry" a truly haunting track. ELO's Jeff Lynne wrote the powerpop opening tune- "One Way Love" and Asia's John Wetton and Greg Downes wrote "We Move As One' the anthemic closer. All these
songs work pretty well.

I like a lot a lot of the other songs as well. "Click track" in particular, stands out well. The songs on this album seem to provoke different reactions from different listeners. As with other Agnetha albums the reponse to this album was mixed. I tend to think that this album works well since it seems to draw on the same strength that ABBA did-Give Agnetha a good pop song and she will deliver the goods.

Side One of this album may be Agnetha's best LP side ever.
Yes, Agnetha could have done a lot worse.

ABBA sidefolk Rutger Gunnarsson, Anders Glenmark
and Karin Glenmark appear on this album.
ABBA engineers Michael Tretow and Paris Edvinson engineered the sessions which were recorded at Polar Studios, between October 1984 and November 1994.

Two songs- Agnetha's composition "Your There"
and Paris Edvinson's "Turn The World Around"
were released as non-album B-sides on
the singles that promoted this album.

The 2005 remaster adds a non album single, two non album b-sides and a longer mix of "I Wont Let You Go".

Agnetha Fältskog-Agnetha Collection 1986 Out of print Finland LP

This Finnish market only compilation album features songs from Agnetha's Swedish solo career 1967-1979. The track listing is similiar to Tio Ar Med...

Zigenarvän  Om tårar vore guld

Många gånger än  Dröm är dröm och saga saga

Agnetha Fältskog-Sjung Denna Sang, Cupol CLPL 5041, Early 1986 Out of print Swedish LP

This Scandinavian market only compilation album complements TIO AR MED as sort of a
Swedish Greatest Hits Part 2. All the songs are from her early 70's's Swedish career. Sadly, this album is no longer available. The title means "Sing This Song". The cover features a charming closeup photo of a smiling Agnetha with unfixed teeth circa 1968.

The woman on the cover seems so innocent. For some reason, this album features nine songs from Agnetha's fourth & somewhat hard to get album called När en vacker tanke blir en sång.This album also features some of Aggie's non- album tracks, some of which were only made available on CD recently with the Agnetha box set. Among them are her two duets with Jorgen Edman-"Sjung denna sång" and "Någonting händer med mig"

"Nu Skall Du Bli Stilla " (Everything's All Right") from "JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR makes it's debut on a Agnetha album here. As does the 1974 English language single "Here For Your Love/Golliwog' . "Golliwog" may have a stupid lyric , but it's stlll a sexy song. My favorite song here is the charming "Litet Solkensbarn" (Little Sunshine Boy) ,a 1970 B-side,that also made it's album debut here.

TRACK LISTING:

-Tågen kan gå igen
-Kanske var min kind lite het
Golliwog
-Han lämnar mig för att komma till dig
-Då finns du hos mig
-Mitt sommarland
Sjung denna sång
Vi har hunnit fram till refrängen
-Jag vill att du skall bli lycklig
Litet solskensbarn
Nu skall du bli stilla
-Kungens vaktparad
-Nya ord
Någonting händer med mig
-Sången föder dig tillbaka

Secret Service- Aux Deux Magots 1987 on Available on Swedish LP

This album includes a extended version of Aggie's 1986 Swedish hit duet with Secret Service singer- Ola Hakkanson called "The Way You Are", as well as nine other tracks. Of course, you can get "The Way You Are" on the 2005 remaster version of EYES OF A WOMAN, or on "That's Me" or the "My Love, My Life" albums. Or you just forget the whole thing altogether and go out and have a coffee.

"The Way You Are" is a dreary duet, more original than "Never Again" but lacking in that record's historinics...It was 1986 #1 Swedish hit that was featured in a documentary called It's time for Sweden. The documentary was filmed as part of Sweden's effort to attract the 1992 Winter Oympic Games to come to Falun, Sweden... Needless to say it didn't work-cos the song sucked.....

Agnetha & Christian -Kom Folj Med I var Karusell, WEA 242 186-1, - Early 1987 Released on Available on Swedish CD

Now it was Christian Ulvaeus' turn to sing with his Mom, Agnetha.. Apparently Aggie's dog does not sing, so this was to be the last of the duet albums. So yes. this is Agnethas' second childrens album.-This one features , Agnetha. singing with her and Bjorn's son Christian, who at the time of the making of this recording was nine years old. Christian was the baby Aggie was carrying during the making of ABBA -The Album....The title translates as "Come Along on My Roundabout".The whole album is in Swedish. There are some original songs here but nothing written by Agnetha. There is (for example) a Swedish version of one of the Smurf songs. This album is strictly for the pre A-teen crowd. The ever loyal Rutger Gunnarsson and Lasse Wellander play on this. Agnetha produced this with Michael Tretow. Interestingly, this album was not recorded at Polar Studios or released on the Polar label. Instead WEA handled the release of this album and Aggie's next album called - I STAND ALONE.

This album was reissued in 2003 with a slightly revised cover under the title -

Guldkorn.... Your exciting track listing is as follows!

Karusellvisan/ Våra vaLPar/ Mitt namn är Blom/ Vattenvisan/ Maskeradbalen/ Pelle Jöns/ Tre vita råttor/ Önskevisa/ På söndag/ Smurferifabriken/ Min ponny/ Nicko ticko tinn/ Jag vill va' som du/ Jag är kung/ Alla färger/ Liten och trött

Agnetha Fältskog-I Stand Alone, WEA 242-231-1, November 9, 1987 Available internationally on CD

It seemed like this was the last time. Agnetha's last studio album for 17 years.

I STAND ALONE is Produced by Peter Cetera and Bruce Gaitsch. Peter Cetera (formerly of the American band -Chicago) who like any sensible person is a big fan of ABBA.. At the time of this album, Peter was at the peak of his solo career. His solo career was and is a very bland, and laidback.

Somehow, Peter Cetera managed to convince Agnetha to come to Malibu, California to record this album and for the first time she is the only Swede on a record. She truly stood alone. One theory is that Agnetha had developed a crush on co-producer Bruce Gaitsch , and this is why she was willing to fly on a plane to California to record the album, despite her well known fear of flying...
However, the album disappeared with out a trace in the American market (and did poorly everywhere but Scandinavia). Interestingly , this was the first ABBA related album to be issued on CD in America at time of initial release.

Thus album largely favors a very bland ,laid back
but sweet sound. Some of the songs here seem to be written by obscure songwriters with the notable exception of David Foster and the last two songs, which were co-written by Diane Warren, who was one of the most successful songwriters of the '80s & the "90's.

However, since the songs are unremarkable they do not outshine poor
Agnetha who's the one with her name on her album.Agnetha's actually able to bring the best out of songs like "Maybe It was Magic' or "Let It shine". The sameness of the songs makes this also a more cohesive album . I mean if you like one song- you'll probably like them all. I lot of people like the straight forward emotionality
of the songs on this album. So this album has aged surprisingly well, but so has my TV born the same year....

Two of the songs have more interesting arrangements. "The Last Time" is a dramatic opener and the title track sounds proud, defiant. There is actually some pretty effective horns, synthesizer, and percussion on the title track. Somehow, nobody was able to locate Rutger Gunnarsson and thus for the first time since her German recordings Agnetha she is the only Swede on a record. She truly stood alone! But then she sat down.....

For variety of reasons (primarily the desire for privacy) Agnetha withdrew from the record making business at this juncture till 2004.During her retirement she has lived a private life at her compound at Ekero near Stockholm, Sweden...

Agnetha Fältskog-Estoy Sola Late 1987 Hard to find Argentinean LP

The Argentines released an alternative version of I STAND ALONE
that included the fascinating Spanish language versions
of "The Last Time -"La Ultima Vez" and "I Wasn't The One" -"Yo No Fui".
I havent seen this or heard this , but I would assume the rest of the tracks
from I STAND ALONE are presented in their normal English versions.

Agnetha also recorded and released a Spanish version of her duet with
Tomas Ledin -"Never Again"- which was released in Spain under the title
"
Ya Nunca Mas" in 1983. "Ya Nunca Mas" was compiled as part of the 2005 "Wrap Your Arms Around Me". remaster.

Various Artists - Duetter 1993 Hard to find Swedish CD

Two Agnetha duets are included- Agnetha Fältskog & Tomas Ledin's "Never again", and , Agnetha Fältskog & Ola Håkansson"s "The way you are". Both of the songs are avaiilable on the recent Agnetha solo remasters

One of Frida's duet's is included 1the 1987 track ,, Så länge vi har varann, done as a duet with Ra ta ta. The Roxette track is called " From One Heart To Another."

Agnetha Fältskog-Geh Mit Gott September 1994 hard to find but Available on German CD

Although it's is not widely known , Agnetha apparently attempted to break into the West
German record market particularly in 1968-1970. She was aided in this attempt by her then
boyfriend ,Dieter Zimmerman (no relation to Bob Dylan- but you knew that). Not only did West German career flop, but her Swedish career stalled a little as Dieter took the reins....
Agnetha's next boyfriend ( a guy named Bjorn) would prove to be a bit more up to the task of breaking
Agnetha on the International markert.

Aggie released 8 singles for the German markert. All of which were actually recorded in German. She was not successful and gave up recording in German in 1972,by which time ABBA was about to break into the German markert. No album was released at the time, but in 1994 this compilation of the German tracks was put together by ROYAL RECORDS of the German tracks,. The title track is a German version of the Joan Baez song-"Here's To You'.

One song not included here is the Agnetha rarity "Hokus Pokus"/"Hokuspokus Fidibus-

which was tried out on radio as a posssible German entry to the to Eurovsion song contest. The recording has never been released....

Various Artists -Julens Musik Late 1994 Available on Swedish CD

This CD released by Polar couples Agnetha & Linda's NU TANDAS
TUSEN JULEJUS 1980 Christmas album with Polar's 1972 Christmas LP called NAR JULDAGSMORGAN GLIMMAR which has Christmas songs by various Polar artists.
The second part of the CD is far better.

Polar's 1972 Christmas music album had tracks by Annifrid Lyngstad, Lena Anderson,Svenne Hudlund,Arne Lambert,Sonja Stjernqvist and the Hootenanny Singers .The Hootz do "Gå Sion, din Konung att möta" and "Nu Tandas Tusen Juleljus" . The songs Frida does here are "Nar Det Lider Mot" and "Glans Over Sjo Och Strand" The original LP is no longer available, NAR JULDAGSMORGAN GLIMMAR is easily better part of the JULENS MUSIK collection.
JULENS MUSIK is the closest thing we have to an ABBA Christmas album. (ABBA never recorded any Christmas music)
.

The album also includes thye Annifrid Lyngstad' raritity-"Tango i det gröna" ,the less rare "Fröken Fredriksson" by Björn Ulvaeus' and thirteen other songs. Some of which are by people I have never heard of. Most interestingly you can find two of ABBA mangers' Stig Anderson's hard to find recordings here on this album, but this album is out of print and hard tofind...

An important 18 song compilation of Pre-ABBA solo material coupled with Swedish versions of ABBA songs. All the songs are from 1970 to 1975. ABBA, Frida, Agnetha and Björn & Benny are featured.. Agnetha is represented with five songs..."En Sang Och En Saga", SOS, "En Sang Om Sorg Och Gladje, "Sa glad som dina ogon" and "Drom ar drom Och saga saga".
All five of which are available on Agnetha's CD's Most of these tracks feature other ABBA members on them.

The CD is subtitled STIKKAN ANDERSON VALJER POLARS PARLOR which supposedly translates as STIKKAN ANDERSON PICKS POLAR's PEARLS. Agnetha Fältskog- My Love, My Life, Columbia COL 483910 2, September 1996 2CD set available in Sweden (also 3CD version issued)

A fairly decent Swedish 2CD collection covering Aggie's entire career-Swedish, English, ABBA, kids albums, and non album tracks. A 3CD version of this collection was also made available (but not in stores). The 2CD set has 25 songs from the pre- 1980 Swedish career, but the 80's English stuff is not covered, as well, since space is spent by including some ABBA songs.

Some non- Aggie album tracks are featured including the singles "Never Again,', The Way You Are, and" Its So Nice To Be Rich" . The B-side" P&B" can not be found on either this album or the later THAT'S ME collection.

In 1997 a mail order firm, TV shop ,briefly offered a 3CD version with a bonus disc with 15 more tracks...The third CC on the 3CD version just includes more previously released songs primarily from Aggie's Swedish career.

This collection was compiled by Aggie and
Michael Tretow. It was released by Sony (the parent of Aggies original Swedish label CBS-Cupol. Every Agnetha fan should have at least this album or TIO AR MED. Aggie's Swedish work is her most personal solo work.

Agnetha Fältskog-That's Me, Polar 539 928-2, May 1998 Available worldwide on CD

A single CD BEST of collection of Aggie's English language recordings . This album includes a few ABBA tracks (the original versions-ho hum) , songs from her three 80's English albums and some rare 1980's A and B sides . Released in May 1998. This was made available throughout Europe, but as usual not in the United States.

The six tracks that made their Agnetha solo album debut's are the following -"Fly Like a Eagle" (not the Steve Miller song )," It's So Nice to Be Rich", "Never Again"(a bathetic duet with Tomas Ledin), two great b-sides from the Eyes of the Woman sessions-"Turn The World Around" ," Your There" and the previously unreleased
" Queen of Hearts". The "Queen of Hearts "
is a English version of "Nar Du Tar Mej i din famn'. "Nar Du Tar MEj I din famn"
a song originally released in 1979 on TIO AR MED.

In general, this album was intelligently compiled considering what they had to work with.

Sadly,' The Angels Cry' isn't on here, Nor is the unreleased live Abba track " I'm Still Alive " which would have been cool to have here. You are forced to buy both this CD and the MY LOVE MY LIFE collection, if you want to collect all her non-album English A-sides. The b- side "P&B (from a movie of the same name) is not available on CD anywhere. This collection was released in many territories by Polydor. As usual ,this was not released in America.

AGNETHA Faltskog -My Colouring Book , Warner 5050467-3122-2-7,April 2004 Available on CD International release

All the songs are recorded in English. Most of the songs are covers of songs by 1960's artists that Agnetha was inspired by like Connie Francis, Dusty Springfield, Frank Sinatra, and Cilla Black. . The album is produced by Agnetha along with Anders Neglin and Dan Strömkvist. "If I Thought You'd Ever Change Your Mind" was been released as the leadoff single.. Prior to this album.,Agnetha didn't have much opportunity to do too many covers of classic pop music during her solo career because most of her material was newly written for her solo albums...

The album was in gestation for a few years before coming to it's fruition...Agnetha did some demos a few years before with Michael Tretow but stopped when he became ill... When she resumed she ended up working with new producers.

Lasse Wellander plays guitar here and there on the album and Agnetha's daughter Linda Ulvaeus sings some of the backing vocals. ..(OK, hey maybe her daughter can sing. after all.!)

Like Agnetha's previous two studio albums, this album was released on the Warner Music label. Although there was more than just a Scandinavian release of the album, many places like the US have not seen release of this album...The album was, intially at least, relatively successful. It actually made to #12 in the UK, and sold more than the usual 100,000 copies in Sweden. But sales cooled down quickly partly because the reclusive Agnetha did not do much to promote the album after the first few weeks....Still it was amazing to see our diva back using those pipes again.....In the years after the release of this album, most of Agnetha's solo work was reissued or recompiled, and Agnetha made many public appearances.

AGNETHA FALTSKOG-13 HITS, Universal 9865666, Swedish CD November 2004

The title is inaccurate in that most of these tracks were not hits. This is a Budget Swedish marker release -though all the tracks are sung in English. If you do not want to buy the full priced THAT's ME- you can buy this latest Agnetha collection which covers nearly the same period, but this set has eight songs from WRAP YOUR ARMS AROUND ME, three from EYES OF A WOMAN , none from I STAND ALONE and two duets orginally released as singles -"Never Again "and "The Way You ARE". This is Kind of a pointless release unless you are looking to buy an abridged version of WRAP YOUR ARMS AROUND ME.

TRACKS INCLUDED Wrap your arms around me/ Take good care of your children/ Stand by my side/ Man/ Mr persuasion/ The heat is on/ Eyes of a woman/ To love/ Never again (duet with Tomas Ledin)/ I wish tonight could last forever/ I won't let you go/ The way you are (duet with Ola Håkansson)/ One way love

Agnetha Fältskog-My Very Best, Columbia, October 8, 2008 Swedish 2CD

A 35 track hits compilation from Aggie. All the tracks are previously
released. One CD features her Swedish tracks from 1960's and the
1970's. The second CD features English language tracks from her post
ABBA solo career (the exception being the ABBA track -"The Winner Takes
It All" ). The tracks are not sequenced in chronological order. The
compilation includes tracks from her 2004 solo album, My Coloring Book.
Eyes of a woman is under represented in favor of Wrap Your Arms
Around Me. There are no track from her duet albums with her either of
her children. The bluish cover features a stunning photo of Aggie
from the mid-1970's. There is something rather scary about the idea
that this album is celebrating 40+ years of the music of Aggie Fältskog.
Equally scary is Aggie's duet with Bjorn called -"Så här börjar
kärlek"

.

Agnetha Faltkog- 3 Original Album Classics" January 27, 2010 German 3CD set.

Sony , will release the 3 CD box set "3 Original Album Classics" in January. This set will include three of Agnetha's Swedish solo albums by Agnetha:
"Agnetha Fältskog" (1968)"När en vacker tanke blir en sång" (1971) and "Elva Kvinnor I Ett Hus" (1975).It's based on the recent "5 Original album classics" that featured five Agnetha early solo albums, which itself drew on the six disc Agnetha boxset called "Den Forsta Aren".

All in all a bit of a comedown from the original six then five disc versions....
