HEP STARS- Cadillac Madness - 40 Years * 40 Hits * 1964-2004 Available on Swedish 2CD March 2004 Benny Andersson's old band released a new double CD compilation featuring all the Hep Stars hits from the 1960's, a few albums tracks as well as two new tracks recorded recently- 'Love Is Coming Back', and a new version of the Hep Stars 1965 hit, "Cadillac", not surprisingly Benny does not appear on the new tracks. Benny has never appeared with the Hep Stars since he left the band in 1969... Nor for that matter do original members Christer Pettersson & Lelle Hegland appear on Drums & Bass. (Hardly a reunion!)This CD set also includes "It's Been a Long Long Time" and "Ar Det inte Karlek, sag? which are not easily available elsewhere ..There does not appear anything recorded between 1970 and 2002 on the set. Regardless, This is probably as good or better than the previous 2 album compilation set 1964-1969 . . Might have been to cool to have "Someday Someone" on here instead of just in the Carl Magnus Palm's Swedish language Cadlllac Madness book. ..Most of songs are in English. The Hep Stars were a good band -and a hits collection of this stuff is frankly better than some of the ABBA girls (Agnetha & Frida) solo material .
